In 2019, one student submitted a 'Big Idea' on NTSU's platform. They asked for compulsory consent training. Their submission broke the record for the number of 'likes' that NTSU had seen that year. Since then, NTSU and NTU have been working in partnership to deliver these workshops, which are built into the timetable of every first-year undergraduate at NTU.
The workshop is a 90 minute interactive face-to-face workshop. It's co-delivered by a trained colleague and student.
The workshop provides:
• an exploration of giving and receiving consent
• an understanding of consent in scenarios
• myth busting
• supporting a friend
• signposting to support agencies
If you are a student who is passionate about educating others about consent, you can sign up to be a workshop facilitator. You will be given full training, gain valuable experience for your CV and facilitating workshops will count towards your Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR).
You can find out more about this opportunity and apply to be part of our award-winning Consent Programme via the link below.
