Mental Health Champions

What are Student Mental Health Champions?

The Student Mental Health Champion scheme is a collaboration between NTSU and NTU Student Support Services.

Mental Health Champions are NTU students who are passionate about supporting other students with their mental health. They do this by raising awareness of student mental health issues the support available at NTU, and by running wellbeing events and activities.

Interested in becoming a Student Mental Health Champion?

As a champion, you'll join a community of over 400 students who are passionate about mental health. And you can get involved in running wellbeing activities and events, developing new initiatives, and raising awareness about student wellbeing through social media and the Healthy NTU blog.

 

As one of our champions, you can:

  • Attend information and advice sessions throughout the year
  • Help at events, including World Mental Health Day, Wellbeing Week, Time to Talk Day, and more.
  • Promote student wellbeing activities and support at NTU
  • Take part in social media takeovers and writing for the Healthy NTU blog

The role is completely flexible, so you can fit it around your studies and other commitments.

 

Why should I apply?

You will receive nationally recognised training, which will help you be confident in the role and looks great on your CV.

You'll also receive a Mental Health Champion lanyard, t-shirt and recognition award for your involvement. Plus, you'll come away with skills and experience that will be useful for the rest of your life.
