Our annual awards celebrate the achievements of our students throughout the year and their contribution to SU activities.

You can find all of the awards and criteria below. If you think you or someone you know is worthy of winning an award, please complete the nomination form below.

This award will be given to a Course Representative that has gone above and beyond to make the voices of their peers heard, they may have run a campaign, or advocated for improvement within your learning experience.

The criteria for this award:
  • Has made an outstanding contribution to their course.

  • Shown on-going commitment and enthusiasm to improving their course.

  • Has submitted consistent and timely feedback.

  • Has shown an excellent level of attendance and participation at Course Rep meetings.

  • Has helped drive a beneficial improvement that will benefit current and future students

This award will be given to a School Officer that has gone above and beyond to make the voices of their peers heard, they may have run a campaign, or advocated for improvement within your learning experience.

The criteria for this award:
  • Has shown dedication and enthusiasm to making changes to their school.

  • Has submitted consistent and timely feedback.

  • Has made an outstanding contribution that will benefit current and future students.

  • Has shown excellent attendance and participation in meetings.

For this award you may submit with either a written or video submission!

This award will be given to a recently formed society that can demonstrate an instant impact on campus, they will have delivered engaging events and have a strong membership base.

The criteria for this award:
  • Society must have been created within the last sixteen months or less.

  • Effectively managed the society’s budget/accounts.

  • Good member recruitment and retention within the first year

  • Successfully organised activities and events for members.

  • Good, regular communication between the society and NTSU.

  • Shows potential for growth and future success.

  • Caters for all members and has been successful in fulfilling its aims and objectives.

  • Priorities sustainability to make sure that as well as having a positive impact on their members they positively impact the planet.

This award is for a society that has consistently delivered excellent activities and opportunities for its members that were engaging and inclusive.

The criteria for this award:
  • Caters for all members by organising a variety of events/activities and has been successful in fulfilling its aims and objectives.

  • Aims to raise the profile of societies within NTSU and the university.

  • Effectively managed the society’s budget and accounts.

  • Has had good membership retention and engagement throughout the year.

  • Effective communication to society members.

  • Has maintained a positive representation of NTSU and the University.

  •  Priorities sustainability to make sure that as well as having a positive impact on their members they positively impact the planet

NTSU recognises that student staff play an integral role in delivering an excellent service to our members across all our venues.

The criteria for this award:
  • Demonstrates the values of NTSU

  • Delivers excellent customer service

  • Goes above and beyond to get the job done

  • Committed to ensuring students have an excellent experience when using NTSU

This award is chosen by the panel who will award an individual, group or project from all the nominations or award winners that they feel deserves special recognition.

The criteria for this award:
  • A high level of involvement, which results in an outstanding contribution to NTSU and the student community.

  • Can demonstrate through their actions the embodiment of NTSU core values: Student-Led, Inclusive, Supportive, Forward-Thinking and Ambitious.

  • Committed to empowering students to make NTU the best academic and personal experience for themselves and others.

This award recognises those individuals, societies or projects that have championed student wellbeing at NTU.

The criteria for this award:
  • championed and raised awareness of wellbeing initiatives amongst students

  • proactive and understanding to the diversity and ever-changing needs of individual students

  • empowered students to take action to improve their own health and wellbeing

  • provided opportunities for improving wellbeing amongst students

For this award you may submit with either a written or video submission!

This award recognises those that have worked alongside others to achieve something special.

The criteria for this award:
  • worked with another society, course rep, university department or local organisation to make a difference

  • promoted collaboration opportunities amongst students

This award recognises those that have championed inclusivity, dismantled barriers to participation and been a positive ally to students.

This award recognises those that have worked alongside others to achieve something special.

  • instigated positive conversations about equality and diversity across NTU

  • taken action to make your activities accessible regardless of socio-economic backgrounds, ethnicities, genders and sexual orientation

  • provided learning opportunities for students around EDI

This award recognises our students’ involvement and activities within extracurricular activities whilst studying at Nottingham Trent University.

For this award, we are looking for a society, community or student project that has delivered an excellent event, activity or opportunity for NTU students. It will have been a success, inclusive and one that demonstrated innovation in the face of adversity.

The criteria for this award:
  • demonstrated leadership skills whilst supporting student-led activities at NTSU

  • been a positive role model for students at NTU

  • engaged with the opportunities provided by NTSU as part of their role as a leader
