Following a discussion with NTU, a review was carried out into the use of plastic cards and the price of replacement. This review concluded that £5 was a reasonable price given the cost of the materials and importance of maintaining security.
The price of a lost uni card should only be the cost of the material to make a new one. £2-3 is an acceptable amount.
