Fly Live has been Nottingham Trent University's official Student Radio Station for 27 years and has established itself as a vibrant and engaging platform for students to express their creativity, share their thoughts, and connect with the wider student community. By broadcasting Fly Live in the student union areas, we can enhance the overall student experience and foster a sense of unity and belonging among the student body.

We provide an invaluable platform for students to voice their opinions, share their experiences, and discuss topics that matter to them. By broadcasting the station in student union areas, we can amplify student voices and encourage active participation in events across campus. Promotion of events & current affairs on campus comes as part of what we do already, but we can strengthen this even further if played around campus.

We offer a unique opportunity for students to showcase their talents in various areas such as hosting and producing radio shows, producing music, and conducting interviews. By broadcasting the station, we can celebrate the diverse talents within our community and provide a platform for their growth and recognition. Many alumni find themselves working for BBC, Global, Bauer Media, ITV and other companies relevant to broadcast journalism, and celebrating the upcoming talent would only promote better opportunities for students and the students union.

Music has a powerful impact on creating a positive and vibrant atmosphere. By playing Fly Live in student union areas, we can infuse energy and enthusiasm into the campus environment, making it a more enjoyable and welcoming space for all students whilst simultaneously actively promoting local artists and musicians (including NTU artists), providing them with exposure and opportunities to reach a wider audience. By broadcasting the station, we can contribute to the local music scene and foster a sense of community between the university and the surrounding rich areas of artistry such as Hockley.

By incorporating Fly Live into the student union areas, we can encourage students to actively engage with the union and its activities. The radio station can serve as a catalyst for increased participation in events, clubs, and societies, ultimately enhancing the overall student union experience.

I kindly request that you consider this proposal and explore the possibilities of broadcasting Fly Live within the student union areas such as The Loft, The Point, The Grumpy Mule, The SU shops etc.

. I am confident that this initiative will contribute to a more engaging and inclusive campus environment that promotes societies, wellbeing, talent and spotlights how amazing our community is.

After all, we are NTU's official student station, for students, ran by students.

It’s an amazing society and have had some amazing achievements in the past years! Some of radio 1’s biggest names have come from Nottingham Trent’s student radio, FLY LIVE!!!!!! It would be amazing to have it represented more around campus as they all work extremely hard on their shows 🤞

Playing fly live around campus will bring the ntu community together as well as give much needed information during the news segments. It’s a part of the university we should be proud of especially for all the awards it’s been given. This is station where student voices can be listened to

The Fly Live team are incredible and produce amazing radio shows! It would be a great opportunity to inform students of the latest news (both locally and nationally) as the news team at Fly Live do daily news reads on air!

Everyone on Fly Live put so much effort into their shows and it would be amazing for their work to be recognised across campus. This would encourage more people to be apart of the society as well as more students would be aware of the station.

The radio for students, by students - it just makes sense to have the station broadcast around campus. It’s that sense of community.

Fly has been the best decision i’ve made over my 3 years at ntu! It’s so much fun and such a good confidence builder - having fly being played around campus would be amazing as everyone puts so much into their shows and would be great to have our voices heard :)

Students' Unions up and down the country (including over the road at UoN) play their student stations within their buildings - it's time Fly got the same privilege!
