Join us on a trip to Chatsworth House Estate on Sunday Oct 20th! This stunning historic estate is nestled in the Derbyshire countryside and has been used as a filming location for classics such as Pride and Prejudice, the Crown, and Peaky Blinders. We will meet at Nottingham train station at 9:15 to catch the 9:43 train to Chesterfield. Then we will take the 10:29 bus from Chesterfield to Chatworth house with an expected eta of 11:17. We will tour the grand house at 11:30 to see the impressive art collection, elegant rooms, and learn about the estate’s rich history. Afterward, you'll be able to wander through the expansive gardens and admire the fountains, sculptures, and vibrant autumn colors. We will then take the 4:08 bus to Chesterfield Railway and the 5:22 train back to Nottingham station. This trip will be a unique blend of culture, nature, and relaxation, providing a great opportunity to bond with fellow postgrads.
As a PGS member, your ticket will buy you bus and train tickets as well as admission to the main house. Non-members, spouses, and friends are welcome to join but must pay for these items on their own. Make sure to dress warm/ dry, bring your own lunch, or bring money to buy lunch at the cafe!
