Society of the Year 2021/22 Committee Statement
We cannot believe we are Society of the Year !
Where to begin, never in a million years did we ever expect to win this award. Out of over 135 societies here at Trent, to be named the best, is an absolute honour. Thank you to both Cameron, VP Opportunities, and Benedict, VP Postgraduate, for the kind words spoken and for presenting us with the award.
To be shortlisted and have three of our team be invited to the awards was enough. Well done to our fellow nominees; History, Cocktail, Amnesty, Conservation and Trent TV, you should all be so proud !
When you join Committee, you have expectations of what it will be like, think it’s a great addition to the CV, but in no way did we expect to gain so much support, love and guidance from our members and the support networks in place at Trent.
On behalf of all 11 of us, proud is an understatement. We are beside ourselves with shock, pride and joy we have done nothing more than provide our members with the opportunities they deserve to have accessibility to.
We have put so much hard work in this year to rebrand LEX. If you were to see all the spreadsheets, emails, meetings, social media planning and everything else, you wouldn’t believe it! To be Society of the Year just makes everything so much sweeter! We cannot express our gratitude to everyone at the SU, Students and Staff, for their support and for choosing LEX Law this means so much.
