President - Your Winner: Marcus 'Patches' Boswell
Hi, I'm Patches, and I want to be your Student Union President! After a very successful year as the VP Services, my aim is to help this organisation grow further and ensure all decisions which are made by the Senior Management Team at the University and we as the Executive at the Union, are made for your benefit during your time at NTU. I have a wealth of experience from my time as a student at Trent, and as an Exec member this year, which is essential for the role of President. I am committed to leading a new team of Exec members forward in what is sure to be a promising year, full of exciting developments on our 3 campuses. Vice President Activities - Your Winner: Lizzy Kelly
Hi, I'm Lizzy Kelly and I want to be your VP Activities for 2014/2015. Some of you might recognise me as the girl who serves you snake bites at the City SU! But when I'm not working for the Union you can usually find me producing and presenting radio for Fly FM, or helping to organise events and socials for RAG.
Having been promoted to Head of Marketing this year for Fly, I understand the ins and outs of how Societies function; each one has different needs and I want to make sure all voices are offered a platform. As social sec for RAG I have organised and run various socials (including good old ocean!) and also helped with the planning of some of the most successful events in RAG week, such as Trent RAG’s Take Me Out in which we raised over £200 in one evening!

Vice President Education & Representation - Your Winner - Matthew "Scrimmers" Scrimshaw
This year, I have decided to run for VP Education and Representation. I'm confident my past experience as Vice President of NTU Trampolining and representing Individual Sports on the Sports Executive Committee has provided me with the skills necessary for this position. My personal attributes such as my extremely driven and enthusiastic nature would be beneficial. If elected, I would continue to increase the use of audio and visual lectures across the educational schools, providing benefits to ease of revision. I also intend to set up an online forum between lecturers and pupils where pupils can ask the lecturers for guidance on their coursework. Furthermore, a better turnaround time will be put into place for both coursework and emails. To help boost employability, I would like more guest speakers to come in and for expansion of ‘the buddy system’ to help students settle into their courses better.

Vice President Services & Communication - Your Winner: Jeremiah Jez Anson

I’m Jeremiah and I want to be your next VP services. This role states amongst other things that the victorious candidate will be in charge of both fresher’s and GIAG week but also communicating to students the activities of the Union in all areas of its operation. I’m well suited to this role as I’m a socialite that is passionate about forging friendships. I was fortunate enough to have a marvellous fresher’s week here at NTU due to contribution of the reps the friendships I made and the activities provided by the student union. Every new student coming in should feel the happiness I did, by acquiring this role I will be given the opportunity to do this. My strong social media presence means I’ll have no trouble being the link between the student voice and the student union. Vote Jez for v Pres it would be silly not to.

Vice President Sports - Your Winner: Paddy Atkinson
Hi Everyone! My name is Paddy and I'm Running to be Re-Elected for VP Sports. Being the current VP Sports has been a fantastic experience, I've learnt a lot, and I'd Love to do it again! I believe I am the best person for the Job as I have had hands-on experience on the massive responsibilities it comes with. Being a trustee of NTSU, a member of the executive committee as well as a vital student voice for the Sport & Lifestyle team. I would love the opportunity to carry on inspiring and improving the experience for students during their time at NTU.

Vice President Welfare & Community - Your Winner: Josh Eloi
Hi, I’m Josh Eloi, you might recognise me as ‘That guy on the horse.’ Well yes, that is me, but I’m much more than just a shirtless man atop a noble steed. I've done a lot in the last three years, from playing American Football for NTU and helping to run the club on the committee, to spending the last two years as a fresher rep helping out new students. But now it's time to step it up. Through volunteering I fully understand the importance of student mental health and the need for more emphasis on these issues. I'm a experienced charity campaigner having spent weeks raising money for injured soldiers, and have worked outside of the university to strengthen links with local organisations. This is only a taste of the knowledge and drive I can bring to NTU. So stay Fresh, and vote Josh #1 for Community.

Brackenhurst Liaison Officer - Your Winner: Arthur 'Suave' Sauverin

My name is Arthur Sauverin and I’m running for Brackenhurst Liaison Officer. The new library at Brack provides excellent services, but improvements to the bar, SU/orangery and canteen should be looked into, involving you in the future redevelopment of the old library. The next step in improving travel is an alternative solution for nights out in the city, for example the extra bus that is being put on for Brackenhurst Students for the Climax Takeover. Anybody who has lived on Brackenhurst will agree that the atmosphere is unrivalled by that of any city or Clifton halls, if I am elected I will strive to improve the facilities on campus working closely with the bar and Ents teams providing a greater platform and participation in improvements. We all want to see a 24 hour cash point along with longer shop opening times and improved student car parking.

City Liaison Officer - Your Winner: Alex Head
I would love the opportunity to become the City Liaison Officer. I feel that I have the skills and ability that are needed to benefit this role. During my first year I was the head of my halls committee and this year I have been the communications officer for RAG. I feel that in both of these roles I have been able to evolve my ability to organise and help run events through promotion and communication. I also think that I have the leadership skills that are necessary for this role as shown in the running of a halls committee and my previous job as a manager of a coffee shop. I am always willing to help others and I am both friendly and approachable. I know that I would be able to help and support other members of the exec, societies, sports teams and halls committees.

Clifton Liaison Officer - Your Winner: Tom 'Briefcase' Walsh
I am a second year Mathematics student who lived in Peverell first year and I was a fresher rep for New Halls this year. Spending most of my time on Clifton, I have gained aspirations of helping make it a better place for all involved. Despite playing sport myself, I feel there isn’t a lot of non-sporting activities promoted and I wish to get more activities available on campus. I also know some sports teams might have an early game on a Wednesday and the point doesn’t serve food before 10; so a buffet in the morning could help our teams get a good breakfast before that big day ahead. My last point is that I wish to get more maintenance on the car park as it isn’t the best but getting a new one may be too costly. Thank you for reading and I hope for your vote.

Hi, I’m Dan and I want to be your next Mature Students’ Officer. I believe that with mature students making up 11% of undergraduates, our viewpoints are currently under-represented by the few who attend assemblies. My aim as Mature Students’ Officer would be to make these assemblies, social events and opportunities for mature students more appealing and more accessible, through improved communication with current students and a stronger presence during the early stages of their student life, as freshers and during welcome week. My name is Paula Macaulay and I am currently in 2nd year, studying Law. I am a very determined individual and I always strive to get the things that I want. I have a real passion for the black and minority ethnic communities at Nottingham Trent, as I feel that so much can be done to really improve the experiences of students within this community at Nottingham Trent University. I am a highly motivated person and I often have a structured plan as to how I am going to achieve the things that I wish to achieve. LGBT Students Officer - Your Winner: Gavin Jones-Verity
As the current Treasurer of the NTU Pride Society, I've had the pleasure of both working and interacting with some amazing people, but it has also highlighted to me that there is still some work to be done to ensure we adequately represent LGBTQIA people here at Trent! The creation of an LGBTQIA Network will empower and enable the LGBTQIA student community here at Trent to contribute not only to the Union, but to the wider student community. Highlighting and combating biphobia and transphobia through education will equip students with the knowledge that people don't have to conform to gender or social stereotypes and categories. Finally, working with local venues to make them LGBTQIA friendly will allow the LGBTQIA student community to enjoy all that Nottingham night life has to offer without fear of discrimination or abuse.

Women Students Officer - Your Winner: Lola Idris
My name is Lola Idris; I’m in my second year and study Law LLB. Being a passionate woman myself, I would like to have the opportunity to be elected as the Woman Students’ Officer and represent the women students. I am an ambitious and driven person and would like to tackle the issues that women face within and outside university. Being a woman (in particular a career woman) is an extremely challenging, yet rewarding experience as women face unique problems and tend to be considered by others as underdogs. I would love for all the women students at Nottingham Trent University to appreciate their full potential and not fear the ‘glass ceiling.’ The glass ceiling can be overcome and I want to support all woman students to have the confidence that our future aspirations are in reach and can be achieved. Disabled Students Officer - Your Winner: Jack Waring
I am an ex full time wheelchair user, who has traveled to many different places around the world as a disabled person. I also have partaken in many different wheelchair sports and fundraised in many different ways, all in a wheelchair. Whilst my position has changed recently, the experiences I gained and my world view would be perfect for a role working with disabled students and helping them settle into University, or deal with issues around the University. I lived for my first term at University in a wheelchair, so I can empathise with students who will be dealing with the same situations I have had to. My aim is to make all students feel more comfortable in their environment and help those in need, such as managing study around their disability. I'd also like to forward disability sport in Trent and get more people involved, disabled or otherwise.

Libby Farrier-Williams - I would love the opportunity to represent Trent students at national conference. Last year, I went to the conference as a delegate and have spent the last 8 months as VP Education & Representation in the Students Union. Therefore, I have some knowledge and experience of ensuring we represent effectively. I understand the variety of students at Trent and can consider they concerns and wishes while deciding how to vote. Voting correctly on the policies that Unions take is crucial in making sure Trent is led in the right way over the next year. Similarly, choosing the right VP's and President to lead NUS and therefore Trent Students Unions is crucial. Someone that makes important decisions at national level can effect all our students.
