Free Education Demo: Safety Concerns 2014
Nottingham Trent Students’ Union is aware of a Free Education Demonstration to be held on Wednesday 19th November 2014 that has been organised by the National Campaign Against Fees and Cuts.
NTSU does not support this particular demonstration due to potential issues with safety and accessibility which were highlighted by the National Union of Students. These include a lack of safe space for liberation groups, particularly for disabled students; a lack of public liability insurance and concerns for a lack of exit points en route.
Whilst NTSU realises that some of its members may still wish to attend the event, we strongly urge that attendees look very carefully at safety measures and make sure that they themselves are adequately protected.
