Nottingham Trent Students’ Union (NTSU) has turned a student’s Big Idea into a reality by investing in a brand new piece of tech equipment for society members.
Our Big Ideas scheme allows students to submit ideas for changes that they would like to see to their university experience. Earlier this year, one of our society presidents submitted a Big Idea asking the SU to invest in a video camera for societies.
Benjamin Gulliford, the president of the Young Liberals society, explained how having access to a video camera would be beneficial for promoting society events and activities. After the idea was passed at Student Council, NTSU invested in a Nikon D3400 to help them do just that.
The societies video camera is now available for all societies to loan from NTSU and we’ll be actively encouraging them to use it to document their activity.
NTSU’s VP Activities, Afonso Martins, said: “It’s great to see ideas like these put into action and I have no doubt that the new camera will help our societies to raise their profiles online. We’re always open to new ideas from our students so if you have any valid suggestions like this one, we’d love to hear from you!”
