Here at the Students’ Union, we understand that with lectures, part time jobs and having to do your own washing being just a few of the many things you’ll be cramming into your life as a new student, joining a society might not always be top of the priority list. Here are some of the reasons it should be:
From classics like , with more than a hundred societies to join at NTSU, there are countless opportunities to learn something new.
If you’ve already got a hobby or skill that you enjoy, joining a society is an equally good opportunity to keep it up and progress.
You can put your new and improved skills to good use too. Being able to list things like team-working and event organising on your CV will enhance your employability and make you stand out from the crowd.
Signing up is an invaluable opportunity to meet likeminded people who share your interests.
Finally, and most importantly, being a member of a society means enjoying yourself. Society socials and weekly meetups are just a taste of the fun to come if you decide to join one.
